WHO IS NANOFLEX FOR?

Whether NanoFlex can be performed depends on the condition of the toe and remaining natural nail at the time of your appointment. If the area is injured, open, bleeding, inflamed, infected or otherwise unsuitable for a cosmetic service, we won't reconstruct it. Your technician needs to assess the nail first. Sometimes the right answer is NanoFlex. Sometimes the right answer is to leave the bloody thing alone and let it heal.

WHAT DOES NANOFLEX LOOK LIKE?

This is arguably the coolest part. A good toenail reconstruction shouldn't scream FAKE TOENAIL. The goal is to recreate the proportions and shape of your natural nail so that, once finished, it blends with the rest of your toes. The reconstructed nail can then be finished appropriately so you can get back to having ten toenails that actually look like they belong to the same person. For someone who has spent months hiding one damaged toe, it's a pretty satisfying transformation.

DOES NANOFLEX HELP MY TOENAIL GROW BACK?

NanoFlex is a cosmetic reconstruction, not a treatment that makes your natural nail grow faster. Your natural toenail still needs time to grow. And toenails are not exactly known for being in a rush. A damaged big toenail can take many months to completely grow out, depending on the person and the extent of the original damage. NanoFlex essentially gives us a way to improve the appearance of an appropriate damaged nail during that process.

CAN I GET NANOFLEX IF MY TOENAIL HAS FUNGUS?

This is where cosmetic nail reconstruction and medical treatment need to stay in their own lanes. NanoFlex isn't a treatment for fungal nail infections or other underlying nail conditions. If your nail has unexplained discolouration, significant thickening, pain, inflammation, discharge or other signs that something isn't right, we'd rather have you get it assessed by an appropriate healthcare professional before we cover anything.

HOW LONG DOES NANOFLEX LAST?

There isn't one magic number that applies to everyone. How long a reconstruction lasts can depend on the amount and condition of natural nail present, your nail growth, footwear, activity level, aftercare and how much pressure your toes are subjected to. Your reconstruction also needs to be maintained as the natural nail grows. Your technician can recommend when it should next be reviewed based on your individual nail. And if you kick the corner of your bed at full force the following morning, unfortunately we cannot negotiate with physics.
